Post 5: Letter from the Editor: When Small Dreams Don’t Fit
Dear Reader,
A few times in my life, I’ve thought, this is it.
This is what I’m meant to do. This is who I am.
Sometimes it was shaped by how I saw myself.
Sometimes by the box I believed I fit into.
Interior designer.
Crocheter.
Professional book reader.
Each one felt exciting for a moment — like trying on a new coat in front of a mirror.
But when I stepped into it fully… something didn’t move.
There was resistance.
There was a blankness.
There was a future I couldn’t quite see.
And I thought maybe that meant I wasn’t capable.
🌿 The Wrong Fit Isn’t Failure
Looking back, I don’t think those dreams failed.
I think they were too small for my spirit.
They were built from logic.
From circumstance.
From what felt “possible.”
But my heart wasn’t built for small containers.
It wanted something bigger.
Something that stretched beyond my own hands.
Something that whispered, save the world — even if my brain replied, be realistic.
Sometimes the dream that scares you is the one that fits. 🌱
🌞 The Lessons I Didn’t Know I Was Learning
Yoga.
Weight-loss.
Discipline.
Routine.
They weren’t detours. They were teachers.
They taught me that an acorn doesn’t grow into a tree without scheduled watering.
That sunlight matters.
That patience matters.
That showing up matters.
They taught me that imperfection can exist —
and the picture can still become beautiful.
You can wobble and still grow.
You can doubt and still water the seed.
Growth doesn’t require perfection. It requires consistency. ✨
🌱 When Small Dreams Feel Impossible
It’s funny.
My smaller dreams felt impossible.
They felt heavy.
Like trying to force myself into something that didn’t quite align.
But the bigger dream — the one that once terrified me —
feels expansive.
It asks more of me.
But it also feels like me.
Maybe the blank vision wasn’t a sign to shrink.
Maybe it was a sign to expand.
Dear Reader,
If a dream feels like a bad fit, don’t assume you are incapable.
It might simply not be your true scale.
You are allowed to outgrow your former ideas of yourself.
You are allowed to dream beyond logic.
You are allowed to water a seed no one else can see yet.
With love and persistence,
— Mischief Inc Editor 🌿
